How Krillion Rarity and Scoring Work
The official FAQ explains how answers are curated and why the special Krillion answer is not always the rarest one. Here is what the creator actually says.

How is answer rarity determined?
According to the creator, the method depends on the question. Some prompts use a familiarity database measuring how often a word or name appears in what people read and write. Others use a combination of LLM assistance and a manual review.
The answer sets themselves are assembled from sources such as dictionaries, wiki pages and encyclopedias, then merged and cleaned. That is the creator’s description of the process, not a claim that we have inspected the underlying datasets.

What does “Too Clever” mean?
“The go-to ‘obscure’ pick that isn’t actually that obscure.”
Krillion’s official FAQ, “What is ‘Too Clever’?”
The label describes an apparently unusual answer that is still a familiar choice. It does not mean an answer was rejected for being too obscure.
Why can a Deep Cut be rarer than the Krillion?
The FAQ says the Krillion is selected for more than rarity. The creator also considers the “fun factor”: how satisfying the answer is to discover. Some collected answers are so obscure that almost nobody would type them, while the special answer should remain something at least a few players can find.
That is why the special Krillion answer should not be treated as a guarantee of the least familiar answer in the entire set.

How do daily points become depth?
The official Daily Dive instructions say every point takes you 10 metres deeper and “700 is the trench.” Applying that conversion gives:
700 points × 10 metres = 7,000 metres
This is a calculation from the stated daily rules. It is not a complete table of answer-tier values, and it does not establish the rules for every other mode.

Why can a valid answer be missing?
The creator acknowledges that sources can be missed, leaving a fair answer outside the curated set. A correct real-world fact therefore does not, on its own, prove that a specific input is accepted by the game.
Why did autocorrect change my answer?
The FAQ explains that some questions have thousands of accepted answers and that many answers have aliases. Autocorrect checks those aliases too, which can lead to an unexpected match.

This guide explains the published rules. It does not assign scores or rarity labels to unverified answers.
